Tourist tour: Tour of ritual sites of Vlach mythology

"Vlach Magic" is a hiking tour that includes visit of ritual places

which play a significant role in Vlach customs and mythology

Place of departure: Majdanpek or Debeli Lug village (near to Majdanpek)

Direction of movement: Feljesana – Danilovo vrelo – Gaura Ursuli – Breza (altitude: 803 meters) – Krsior Cave – Black River Canyon

Total length of the track: about 16 kilometers.

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR HIKING TOUR "VLACH MAGIC"

• Before entering the Black River Canyon, river must be crossed several times. During one of the last storms, all the bridges were destroyed, so the group of hikers must work together to build each river crossing (by placing stones and trunks in the watercourse). The river is not particularly wide and deep (width about 3 meters and depth about 20 cm; in some places it can be significantly narrower).

• This hiking tour can be carried out at any time of the year (saturday or sunday).

• During the route, the guide will show the places where Vlach rituals were performed (falling into a trance and divination, letting go of worries, construction of a stone tower, pagan customs related to burying in the ground, Black Wedding, Binding, Strndzanje... ) and talk about mythological creatures from these areas (Muma Paduri - english: Mother of Forest - supreme god of the Vlachs...).

• The cumulative ascent along the trail is about 450 meters. Time required to perform the action: 7 to 8 hours.

• This route is intended for nature lovers of all ages and is not particularly strenuous and demanding.

• This hiking tour does not include the provision of catering services (the same can be arranged separately, with some of the local restaurants).

• At the very beginning of the hiking tour, there is a place where cars, vans or buses can be left.

PRICE OF GUIDANCE

Price for hiring a tourist guide is 80,00 EUR (this is the total price for a group of up to 4 people).
